About Tuberous Sclerosis

Tuberous Sclerosis is a rare genetic and neurological disease with an estimated 50,000 people with the disease in the U.S.A. It can cause tumors in the brain, kidneys, heart, lungs, eyes, and skin. This can lead to hard-to-control seizures, developmental disabilities, autism, speech and language dysfunction, learning, sleep and behavior disorders and other complications. It can be like having several cancers, kidney disease, epilepsy, autism, and mental disabilities all combined in one person.
